Fall Back

Dries Van Noten Sweater, random t-shirt, Proenza Schouler pants, Cynthia Rowley shoes

While some of us may have already broken out or Easter bests, Mother Nature always does her best to remind you WINTER IS NOT OVER YET.  As the temperature yo-yos from a balmy 70 to a frigidly damp 43, the wardrobe is A BIT OF A MESS.  Thankfully, I haven't quite switched out the closet, but the layering conundrum is getting the better of me.  Especially since I always seem to be dressing for the weather of the day before (does this happen to anyone else in NYC?  I feel like 60 one day is completely different from 60 the next day). So, in the face of such perplexing problems, I am relying on my faves from the last season to safely ferry me into the new season, while also giving them a proper farewell.  This Dries sweater and Proenza pant were probably two of my favorite pieces from Fall 2011, but somehow I had never really noticed the similarity of their digitally-inspired prints until recently.  What seems obvious now took a whole season of their lying on top of each other on top of my hamper to come about.  When inspiration strikes, inspiration strikes...

  2. As trite as it sounds, really amazing combo. You're an inspiration for me...who is still stuck in billable hours-hell.

  5. "...giving them proper farewells," is exactly what it's like to wear those winter items we got so much mileage out of - for what could be the last time. love the outfit, and the writing!
