Been loving little plastic/enamel earrings as of late! Found so many cute ones in Asia
So, it's been quite an eventful week, hasn't? I moved to Hoboken, NJ this summer to get a bit of sanity in my life. And it hasn't let me down on that point and most others. Which made it all the more poignant when Sandy rolled through and mercilessly laid siege to the town (and to most of NJ and tri-state area). Luckily, we were spared the worst, being about a mile from the river. But, to give you an idea of how bad it was--there was about 4 feet of water at our intersection until the end of last week. Unimaginable. Thankfully, there has been no shortage of support and aid for those hit most severely, but here's another reminder/opportunity to donate to organizations like the Red Cross.
On to more trivial things: it's winter now! It was nice and balmy right before the storm, and now we inhabit a frozen frigid, frigid tundra (did I mention we just had a SNOW STORM yesterday?). We kind of skipped the lovely brisk Fall jacket weather for slushy boots and parkas. I was, however, fortunate enough to snap these pics in what seemed to be a 48-hour transitional period, and which are of note because they exemplify the ULTIMATE BATTLE that will transpire this winter: sweaters vs. sweatshirts. I am a self-professed sweater fiend, but the last couple of years, the sweatshirt has been gaining steady ground. As usual, I blame Dries. But I will not harangue him for it. I will subsume myself willingly and wholeheartedly to the wonderful fleecy goodness that a sweatshirt has to offer. But, then again, so many good fleecy sheep and goats have given themselves for my plush cashmeres and sturdy wools. It's going to be a tough one.
Oh and it was also my bday and the election. I'm exhausted. Is it the Holidays yet?

love the first outfit!
